From startup to documented performance

IM Service offers specialized commissioning of HVAC systems with 24-hour availability. We commission, balance and optimize ventilation, cooling and heating systems to ensure they deliver the desired performance from day one. Our commissioning process follows DS 3090:2014, the Danish standard for commissioning of building installations. Our experienced technicians work with everything from small office systems to large industrial and maritime installations. We document all measurements and settings, and we integrate with BMS systems so operations can be monitored and controlled centrally.

What commissioning involves in practice

Commissioning is not just switching the system on. It is a systematic process that verifies every component, confirms that systems work together across trades, and proves that total performance matches the design specification. DS 3090:2014 defines this process and requires verification at every construction phase — from design through operation. In practice, we measure air volumes at each supply and extract point, check pressure conditions throughout the ductwork, verify water flows in cooling and heating circuits, and test the automation controlling dampers, valves and fans. We carry out cross-discipline functional tests that verify the interplay between ventilation, heating, cooling and building automation. We document every measurement point and correct deviations before handover.

Independent third-party verification

We also perform commissioning as independent third-party control in accordance with DS 3090:2014. When building owners or consultants want external verification that installed systems meet the design specification, we carry out a complete review with our own instruments and measurements. The report documents actual performance and states precisely where the system deviates from requirements. The standard requires that operations and maintenance documentation meets the building owner's requirements and that operating staff are trained to run the system correctly. Our verification covers both and gives the building owner a clear basis at handover.
